Learn more.

Are you ready to discover how paid campaigns can turn leads into loyal customers through automation?

In this article, I will guide you through the world of qualified lead capture, where a good paid campaign strategy is the gateway to an effective and results-driven automation funnel.

What is qualified lead capture?

Qualified lead capture is like preparing a gourmet recipe: we need the best ingredients (leads), the best tools, and, of course, a special touch of automation to make everything “delicious.”

In this sense, paid campaigns can be the starting point for creating automated funnels that help us turn clicks into customers.

Paid campaigns as the entry point for automation funnels

Imagine the following: we create a paid campaign on Google Ads, promoting a free e-book about email marketing. The magic begins when someone clicks on our ad and is taken to a UX/UI-friendly landing page.

After the lead signs up to receive the e-book, they not only get the material by email (from an automated email sequence), but are also added to an automation flow that can include SMS messages and push notifications to ensure they don’t disappear from sight. Automation, here, is the superhero of our story!

Building funnels with automation

Now comes the fun part: how can we use automation to turn a PPC click into a highly qualified lead?

It’s simple! The lead enters the funnel, where we start sending relevant content, such as segmented emails, SMS, and even push notifications. The key is in the ability to personalize each interaction according to the user’s behavior on our site.

For example, if the lead opens the email but doesn’t click, we send a reminder by SMS: “Hey, we noticed you haven’t checked out our e-book yet! Take a look here.”

And everything can be automated, so we don’t have to chase each lead individually. The heavy lifting is done by automation; we just get to watch the show, as if we were in the best seat in the cinema!

Segmentation for better lead qualification

We know that not all leads are created equal. Therefore, an important part of the qualified lead capture strategy is audience segmentation.

We can automatically segment leads according to their behavior in our funnel. Those who interact more with emails or click on certain links can be targeted for more advanced campaigns—for example, by offering an exclusive webinar or a free demo.

Here, PPC is the entry point, and the power lies in how we nurture and manage those leads over time. The integration of omnichannel campaigns (using email, SMS, push, and even social media) ensures that we are reaching leads where they are, at the right time, and with the right message.

Automating lead conversion

As the lead moves further down the funnel, qualified leads can be directed toward an irresistible offer.

Here, automation can work hand in hand with PPC, creating a series of email and SMS sequences that encourage conversion. For example, if someone has already downloaded the e-book and participated in the webinar, it may be the ideal time to send a 20% discount offer to try the platform.

And if the lead shows signs of hesitation? Well, remarketing on Meta Ads can work to keep them on the right path and close the deal. This way, the automation cycle never stops—we’re always keeping the lead engaged, nurturing the relationship, and working toward conversion.

Conclusion

Ultimately, using paid campaigns for qualified lead capture and integrating those leads into automated funnels isn’t just a good idea—it’s the most efficient way to increase conversions.

In summary, when planning your next PPC campaign, keep in mind that the real goal goes beyond just generating clicks. We need to nurture those leads and turn them into loyal customers through a well-structured sales funnel. Remember: building a sales funnel doesn’t have to be boring.

On our platform, we offer all the tools you need for every stage of the funnel. Discover how a Customer Data Platform helps you to get a 360 view of your customer.

Why don’t we start this post talking about love? Well, maybe not literally, because we leave this matter to the experts, but we would like to start with the following principle: when there is a deep connection with someone, regardless of their nature, we know which gestures please the other, the right words to win her/him and what he/she most values in a relationship.

Following this thought, let’s get to the subject we’ve mastered: digital revolution!
We call it the digital revolution because of the way in which dispersed data becomes accessible and is easily converted into specific actions aimed at retaining clients.

The best of both online and offline worlds

We believe that this kind of love can happen when you least expect it, for example, outside the store, and even though we have already talked about the countless data sources that a Customer Data Platform can integrate, the truth is that E-goi’s CDP Digital Solutions is the only one with the possibility of monitoring behavior in physical stores.

When consolidating the relationship with your customer, data is never too much. It is information regarding online and offline preferences and behaviors that allow you to customize and strengthen engagement with your customers. It is this comprehensive perception that is often understood as a “360º view of the customer”: it means that you get to know every customer through the history of interactions with your brand at numerous points of contact. The coherent coexistence between online (such as the website) and offline (physical store) environments ensures that there is a positive, fluid, and coherent experience for the customer.

Thus, there are no physical barriers to contact with the consumer, it’s quite the opposite. These multiple layers become a more important source of information, which helps to design future strategic options consistent with the client’s needs.

360º Vision – the market’s augmented and defined reality

Although there are numerous sources of information relating to customers, it is necessary to aggregate the same information in one place. The more information is integrated into a single repository, the easier it becomes to segment and profile customers and define an offer and communication plan that meets their specific needs.

Currently, E-goi Digital Solutions’ Customer Data Platform manages to gather the following data:

Personal information: name, mobile number, email, date of birth, gender, profession, among others;

Purchase history: type of movement, date of movement, products purchased, physical store (or not) where you bought it, campaigns you joined;

Additional notes: contact the support or after-sales service, if you have an invoice pending payment;

Coupons: which coupons were made available, which were actually used, in which products or services were used the coupons, and in which store (physical or not);

Type of customer: RFM profile information (Recency, Frequency, Monetary Value), percentage of churn (with Artificial Intelligence support), segments associated with, next recommended products (with Artificial Intelligence support), received campaigns and interaction with it;

Other data: NPS results, participation in social actions, time spent in a physical store, among other information;

This data thus allows you to have an omni-channel view of the customer, through a timeline that allows you to see how your subscribers reacted to the campaign sent, whether by email, SMS or Push, if they converted, where did it happen, which pages they visited in your online store and how long they stayed in each of them, among other information that will support future strategic decisions.

Benefits of a 360º view of the customer

There’s no doubt – getting to know a customer from all angles is essential support when designing an effective marketing strategy. But it is also important that this vision is accessible and of general knowledge to the other departments.

Operational efficiency:
Allowing departments such as marketing, sales and customer support to have access to a 360º view of their customers ensures consistency in customer communication, and streamlines the resolution of issues that may arise (the customer doesn’t have, for example, to repeat his/hers personal data at each point of contact). This type of omni-channel efficiency leads to increased customer satisfaction and reduced churn.

Greater engagement:
360º vision helps to communicate the right offer, at the right time, through the most convenient channel for each customer. It is possible then to offer custom experiences, which are associated with your brand’s image and create loyalty, constituting a differentiating element and a competitive advantage. Don’t be afraid to show how well you know your customer (without being scary, of course!), and you will be rewarded with more engagement and frequency of interactions.

Predictive Analytics:
With a complete and comprehensive view of its customers, it is able to better anticipate demand, generate upselling and cross-selling opportunities and increase the lifetime value of each customer.

E-goi Digital Solutions’ Customer Data Platform, supported by Machine Learning processes, uses predictive models that allow you to anticipate your customer’s next interaction and increase your upselling strategy by up to 35%.

One of the predictive models is the Next Best Offer, already discussed in our blog. Based on a premise of “observation” of the customer’s purchasing behavior, relationships are established between customers according to similar behaviors in order to recommend products or services of interest to that profile.

Likewise, with E-goi Digital Solutions’ CDP, it is even possible to predict the purchase patterns of your customers and anticipate the next purchase with an offer adjusted to the pattern of interests or their needs.

Final thoughts:

The rapid speed of the globalized market makes it easy to choose brands in a more volatile way, with a clear preference for those that are more in tune with customers’ preferences and needs, demanding increasingly agile and custom responses. Having a wider view of your market helps improve your communication, making it more relevant and customized, creating personal omnichannel experiences that are hard to forget. As in love, the key to a good and lasting relationship is to show that we are attentive, we understand what the other wants and that we adapt what we have to offer to what has been sought after.

5 tips to humanize your e-commerce and retain your customers

Daniel Bento

E-commerce & Retail

It´s true that humanizing your e-commerce brings you closer to your customers and makes people identify with the store and be loyal followers of the business.

However, providing this unique experience to the customer to make it loyal is a challenge when dealing with large-scale information and a massive volume of daily clicks, such as virtual entrepreneurship.

So we brought this post with 5 actions that make all the difference to attract and keep consumers, focusing on excellent service and customer engagement, for companies that want to deal with great algorithms without leaving quality aside.

Want to stay on top of all bids? Come with us!

1. Use storytelling

Storytelling is at its peak when it comes to digital marketing. It is about, as the name implies, telling stories. When telling a story, the brand makes the consumer to accompany it. In this movement, the feelings and sensations of those who read are awakened, causing ties to be established.

Remember that emotional appeal creates a sense of intimacy. Do you know when you see yourself in a scene? This is the idea. Remember that identification is a crucial factor, and as much as you use “robotic” communications such as chatbots, for example, the “human warmth” of the enterprise is indispensable.

Stories appear as a good way to keep it alive.

Be close to your person

How is your marketing planning? Do <g class="gr_ gr_6 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" id="6" data-gr-id="6">you</g> direct marketing to a specific audience according to the strategy? If so, you should already have defined personas; otherwise, it is time to engage the team in this work.

The information bases to attract customers relate to the daily life of each one of them. Who are these people? What age groups are they in? What do they like? What challenges do they face? What does your solution add to their lives? What value do they look for in a brand?

From the most basic (age range, region, interests, social networks that attend, social class, etc.), to the most subjective ones (which pains must heal, what are their fears, frustrations, dreams, etc.) ideal “and work all the promotion and communication on top of that.

Do you know the language of your target audience?

Let’s talk again about identification. If you use super-formal language to talk to young people, for example, it’s quite natural for them to feel “unfamiliar” or somewhat distant. Do you know when a brand does not touch you? The effect is similar.

Likewise, if your persona is a 70-year-old Latin teacher, it’s strange to use slang and play Generation Z subjects on the wheel. Although these examples are obvious, it is essential not to fall into stereotypes, okay?

By doing proper market research and raising the information about your target audience, the peculiarities of your person (s) will appear. It is your mission to grasp these characteristics and make direct and clear communication with them. Find the language your customer identifies and bet on!

3. Be present in social mediaiais

Do you know in which social networks your persona is searching for data, suggestions, entertainment, etc.? Raising what these virtual environments are, you should insert your e-commerce in context, using the various possible social media.

Although the formal-style interactions of corporate accounts have their value, it is crucial to seek a competitive edge. Short videos are a great success, for example. Also, do not dispense quality into productions.

So the golden tip is: make an election of the networks that are most accessed by your target audience and mark them up, posting frequently, interacting, etc. So, your e-commerce looks more human and natural in your posts.

4. Attend multiple channels

Many businesses make mistakes by just using email marketing. Although it is a key part of developing a well-founded strategy, it is not the only one that establishes a connection with the customer.

So communicate using multiple channels (and search for a multi-channel tool when you automate processes). WhatsApp, Facebook messenger, SMS, Push notifications, are all options that bring good results.

Is your e-commerce service specialized?

When reading the contents of your store, everything seems extremely square and robotic? Time to take two steps back and review this. In addition to providing prompt and specialized service, pay special attention to the description of the products and speak directly with the public in the texts of the site.

Giving details and maintaining a tab with explanations of common doubts is one of the ways to humanize your e-commerce. If behind the mark there are people, the reflection of this is that customers feel understood and cared for, you see? Do not sleep on the spot.

5. Send personalized messages

People want to feel part of something, as well as understood and recognized. The very pyramid of human needs, developed by Maslow, teaches us this. So personalized messages are one of the pillars of the excellent customer experience.

It is necessary to make the person feel that the business knows who it is and works for their well-being. In addition to offering content focused on needs and other products and consulting, remember the anniversary of your client and congratulate you on special dates, for example, are actions that deserve attention.

Times that generally boom in sales, such as Black Friday, Mother’s Day, the end of the year, among others, can be key times to show that your store knows who the customer is.

According to past moments, such as acquisitions and demonstrations of interest in products, it is possible to suggest, give discounts, offer a benefit, etc.

Is your business marketing automated?

And how do you manage the potential of thousands of consumer and potential customer information? Using a tool that:

Collect the information;

group them according to interesting analyzes for the management of e-commerce;

make the communication uncomplicated in the processes.

So, you do not let anything go, okay? The big challenge is not to mess around letting the machine communicate with your customer.

Good messaging management, as well as a good multi-channel partner tool (which is notoriously humanized, is not it?) Solves this.

Remember that humanizing your e-commerce is about giving a special touch to digital processes, making it reflect the thinking and intentions of the people behind the automation.

Do you use any system or do you have some e-commerce as a humanization reference? Comment on this post and share your thoughts and experiences!

Customer loyalty program: how an app can help you

Marcelo Caruana

Mobile Marketing

Is customer loyalty still a challenge for you? Given the increasing competition in the market, it is clear how important it is to adopt strategies to sell more and not compromise your company´s income.

Keeping loyal customers is not an easy task, so the brand you want to stand out must do something other than address the needs of your audience: it needs to understand these people. In this sense, a solution is the implementation of a program to not only attract and retain the consumers of your business.

Are you interested? Check out the benefits of a loyalty program and find out how an app can help!

What are the advantages of implementing a customer loyalty program?

Strengthens brand reputation

The company that has a loyalty program can connect with their customers and understand their preferences. This is because this type of action is a great way to generate interaction and rapprochement with the audience. In this way, you can create a great experience, turning the consumer into a real fan of the brand.

By betting on effective communication and providing personalized service, the business establishes a closer and lasting relationship with the client, reinforces its positioning and strengthens its reputation.

Creates a competitive differential

A well-developed loyalty program also serves to highlight the company about its competition. The consumer tends to choose the company that already knows, identifies and still receives benefits.

A loyal customer is not worried about what another company might offer, nor does he think about migrating to the competition, as he knows the value provided by the brand which he is faithful to. Therefore, a loyalty program that works well is a tremendous competitive advantage for your business.

It drives the customer to make new purchases

The loyalty program also functions as a “motivation program,” since it encourages the customer to continue to buy products or services from the company in return for some benefit. There is a “win-win” relationship in which the two sides benefit.

However, you must be aware of the criteria that involve the loyalty program of your business, because it must be aligned with the goals of your brand and the desires of your audience to get full satisfaction.

Conquer new customers

Who does not like to buy and gain some benefit from it? In addition to consuming and always returning to your company, the satisfied and loyal consumer makes free advertising for friends and family, resulting in the indirect acquisition of new customers. Make no mistake: word of mouth is still a powerful way to do marketing.

Increase in billing

Did you know that keeping a customer is more economical than attracting a new consumer? That is, creating a loyalty program is not an unnecessary expense for your establishment. On the contrary, it is a good strategy for reducing costs.

Nor can we forget that the increase in billing is a sweet consequence of the incentive created through the loyalty program. After all, a loyal customer tends to spend a lot more than a new consumer.

How to boost your company’s loyalty program with an application?

Structuring a loyalty program efficiently requires knowing the public well of your brand. Therefore, it is important not to neglect their online presence and to be attentive to the increase in the purchasing power of Brazilians and the possibilities of technological advancement.

Armed with such information, the company can understand that the way it’s public shopping has changed in recent years. Therefore, it is necessary to adapt to these new conditions so as not to be left behind.

According to a study by the Credit Protection Service (SPC Brasil) and the National Confederation of Shopkeepers (CNDL), the mobile phone is used by 74% of people in at least one of the stages of acquisition through the internet. Also, for 33% of Internet users, the smartphone is the primary online shopping tool.

All of this expresses how important it is to modernize processes to take advantage of this mobile expansion, to look for new ways of communicating and to enhance the loyalty program of your company. In this context, one way of doing all this is through an app.

An app, like Qero, can be a relevant intelligence and loyalty tool for your business. Are you interested? We have some tips for you to take full advantage of this innovation. Check out!

Use the app as a loyalty coupon

Did you know that you can use your brand app as a loyalty coupon? The idea is to mark the number of consumptions to, in the end, award a reward – which can be either a discount or a freebie, for example. This is an intriguing idea to increase customer buying frequency in your business.

Push notifications

Have you noticed the push notifications that appear on your phone’s screen? With an impressive opening rate, they are one of the significant advantages of an application for your company’s loyalty program, as they not only increase your customer’s loyalty as long as your app’s usage time. Here are some possible actions through this strategy:

send notifications to anyone who has not accessed the app for more than X days;

send notifications to anyone who has not accessed your site for more than X days;

send exclusive promotions;

send seasonal promotions (Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Consumer Day, Black Friday, Christmas, etc.)

send surprise discount coupons, with limited validity of use;

send news and content with useful information according to the client’s profile;

new products.

You can do many things, but it is essential to always have a lot of sense to not overdo the frequency of sending notifications and annoying the user, right? There are several points that need attention; otherwise things can get out of control and bring endless headaches.

If you’re going through or you’ve been through this, you definitely understand what we’re talking about. However, many problems can be avoided by the point of good management.

In this post, we will cover the main challenges of this work and some tips on how to do it. Check out!

What are the critical challenges of customer management?

Tight deadlines and increasingly demanding customers are a dangerous combination for any agency. Undoubtedly, these are the main challenges when conducting customer management.

Most problems begin the moment a contract is closed, whether it is a work or a monthly fee. To ensure its end, it is common for the seller to promise things that are beyond the agency’s delivery capability.

This kind of attitude raises expectations about the service that will be provided. The problem is that deliveries do not always match what was promised, causing customer disappointment and discomfort in professionals.

For this reason, you need to keep your sales staff well trained and always with your feet on the ground, understanding the agency’s limitations and selling only what is deliverable.

Another critical point to note is the contact between the client and the agency’s commercial. It is common to find relationships shaken by the constant friction between the parties, especially when deliveries delay.

Also, perfect internal alignment is required for sectors to exchange information clearly, after all, they are interdependent. This avoids repeating jobs and delays. If the service does not make a good briefing, the creation will not be able to execute the art correctly.

For everything to work out right from the start of negotiations, you need to have a Service Level Agreement (SLA) or Service Level Agreement.

What is an SLA?

A service level agreement is nothing more than a document that clarifies the services to be provided, the agency’s delivery capabilities, production deadlines and the responsibilities of each for the smooth running of the business.

In other words, we can say that it is a set of rules that govern relations between agency and client in a transparent and fair way, and must always be observed by the parties during the contract period.

It is not difficult to find cases where an agency was hired to manage social networks, for example, and ended up making magazine ads for free. This is due to the lack of a well-defined SLA.

If your agency has been contracted to perform service X, anything other than that should be charged. Of course, you do not want the customer to find another supplier to do the same job, but doing it for free will only result in a loss.

To create art, simple as it may be, it takes time in meetings, briefing, study and gathering of references, etc. All this generates costs, and who pays is you. Therefore, price your services properly and cover the customer.

How to properly price services?

Setting prices for services provided by an agency can be a challenge. Many make the calculation based on the time/man to arrive at a fair price. However, it is based on a weather forecast that is not always followed.

Let’s say that to make a brochure the estimated total time is 5 hours between service and creation. However, due to communication failures or the complexity of the art, the term ends up extending. In addition to the contingencies, you must take into account the time of adjustments or changes, the costs with tools and equipment and the fixed expenses of the agency.

So do not be afraid to put high prices on your services. Make sure the customer sees value in them and thus remains willing to pay them without complaints.

Delivering the promised quality and on time will ensure customer satisfaction and stay in the agency’s client portfolio. To meet these requirements, you need to closely manage customer relationships and organize the tasks to be performed.

How to manage time and organize tasks?

Do you know how much time your team takes to complete each activity? This answer should be on the tip of any businessman’s tongue, but we know the reality is not quite like that.

To identify and adjust the deadlines of each job, a task-organizing tool is required. Preferably a template that has an integrated timesheet for performing efficient time management.

There are a number of specific tool options for managing tasks and time in agencies. Many of them also have an integrated financial management system that allows you to group all the solutions in one place. Here are some examples:

Runrun.it

Runrun.it is a tool that enables the management of projects and workflows, and also generates a series of reports that allow you to evaluate the deadlines, costs of projects and the performance of each professional.

Operand

Operand has a proposal slightly different from the above tool: it seeks to meet all the needs of an agency in one place. It is possible to create projects, check the hours worked, manage finances, make integrations and analyze all this.

Asana

Asana is an online team management tool that allows you to combine the communication and task management features in one place. There are web version and apps for Android and iOS.

By choosing to adopt these tools, you will have the means to monitor and measure each stage of service delivery. It will also prevent tasks from falling into oblivion, which leaves any client highly dissatisfied.

Managing customers is not a simple process. But by choosing the right tools, pricing your services correctly, and setting clear processes, you will not have much trouble retaining customers.

Now that you know a little more about it enjoy the visit to our blog and see an article on digital project management and the mistakes that should be avoided!

How to use email marketing for e-commerce?

Daniel Bento

E-commerce & Retail

Are you already taking advantage of e-mail marketing for e-commerce? Communication with customers is a fundamental part of every sales strategy, and there are several ways to do it efficiently. However, it is common for companies to put aside this economic and compelling alternative.

The popularization of smartphones and the arrival of social networks have led people to think that good old e-mail would be forgotten. However, this thought is far from accurate, and if you do not explore this tool yet, maybe it’s time to re-evaluate this issue so your business will not continue to miss opportunities to communicate with the public.

Want to know what are the advantages of email marketing for e-commerce and figure out how to use it correctly? Then follow the post!

The main goal of e-mail marketing for e-commerce

Have you ever thought that the user who has already acquired something in their e-commerce – who knows the quality of the product and who has made it possible for their business to offer a positive experience – has a greater chance of realizing a sale again than a new customer? Therefore, it is hazardous to neglect the old consumer.

Aiming to extend this relationship between the brand and the consumer is that an e-mail marketing campaign is developed, whose primary objective is loyalty – something that, moreover, is just as important as attracting and generating leads. By retaining customers, the company not only continues to function but also manages to increase profits and expand operations.

Also, when there is no physical store in which the customer can personally know the brand and know of its processes so that it can be connected with it, every form of communication is valid and welcome.

In this sense, however much social networks and websites play an interesting role, otherwise, if not through e-mail marketing, it would be possible for e-commerce to talk to the consumer treating it by name, in an individualized way?

The advantages of investing in the practice of e-mail marketing for e-commerce

An environment conducive to personal and personalized communication

Taking advantage of the previous topic, through e-mail marketing e-commerce has the possibility of interacting with the consumer in a personal and personalized way – which is very important not to lose the quality of the relationship with the customer.

In this way, e-commerce can uniquely approach the client, adapting the contents according to behavior, tastes, and preferences – that is, it goes far beyond putting the name in the text of the e-mail.

Email marketing allows you to understand better the consumer and offer products that might interest you in your inbox. Hence, the business is more likely, consequently, to increase its sales.

Possibility of sending discounts according to the buying habits of the consumer

One advantage of customization is the ability to send discounts according to the customer’s buying habits. After all, nothing more annoying than opening a message in the email and receive discount coupons throughout the adventure sports session when you are a dancer, for example.

By sending discounts that may interest the customer, increasing the conversion rate will be a consequence. By the way, who does not like to pay a lower price for what they want to consume? With e-mail marketing, your e-commerce can spread promotions and discounts more comprehensively and effectively.

Higher chances of increasing repurchase rates

With the constant concern of attracting new visitors to the online store, a major mistake made in the e-commerce market is to ignore the repurchase rate, which, in addition to being an easy task, requires more modest investments than necessary to captivate new clients.

As a result of loyalty, increasing repurchase rates is a possibility with email marketing, as it allows segmenting the consumer base of e-commerce. Knowing what he bought, what pages he visited on the brand site, the source of the visit and the average value of each purchase are examples of valuable information to drive campaigns more effectively.

The tips for using email marketing in your e-commerce

Build a healthy email list

Many companies make the mistake of buying e-mail lists, but sending e-mail without your permission is a way to weaken your brand since the e-mail you send will be mistyped and likely marked as spam. Prefer to request this data in exchange for free offers of e-books and whitepapers, for example.

Target the shot

As already mentioned, one of the significant advantages of email marketing is customization, so use that in favor of your e-commerce and improve the accuracy of your submissions with the targeting of the shot. That is, employ management tools that deliver the best possible message to consumers, according to each profile and pattern of behavior.

Pay attention to the frequency of submissions

Do you know that saying that everything in excess is bad? So that applies here as well. Sending too many emails can become an inconvenience and lead many people to remove themselves from your list.

Find out when to send email marketing

You need to determine what are the best days of the week and times to trigger the campaigns of your e-commerce since the timing makes a lot of difference in the results. So do not be afraid to take tests to set the ideal time.

Vary the subjects of the emails

We know that increasing the average ticket is an essential thing, but you do not have to offer only products in email marketing campaigns. It is possible to treat news about your virtual store, news and market trends and do surveys of satisfaction, for example.

Take care that your emails do not look like spam

Emails written in red, with excess words like “free” and “free,” subject headings of more than 50 characters and in the upper box are usually associated with spam. Watch for these points and reduce the chances that your messages will be identified that way.

Now you know that email marketing for e-commerce is a gold mine filled with opportunities to be discovered. Give due importance that consumer loyalty deserves and adopt this strategy in your business. Do not be left behind!

Need help boosting the customer relationship of your e-commerce? Contact us!

Understand the importance of loyalty programs for e-commerce

Hugo Pascoal

E-commerce & Retail

In this article, we are going to explain the importance of loyalty programs for e-commerce and how to invest in this strategy. Follow us!

Winning the customer’s heart may be as difficult a task as conquering the loved one. In both cases, it is necessary to take the opportunities to highlight our strengths and make sure the object of desire can’t take their eyes off you (here, the competition).

Kidding aside, investing in loyalty is a way to increase the visibility of your brand, reduce the costs of attracting new sales, increase the average ticket value, among other advantages. In this article, we are going to explain the importance of loyalty programs for e-commerce and how to invest in this strategy. Follow us!

How does a loyalty program work?

Let us quickly remember the concept of a loyalty program. This strategy consists of encouraging the consumer to buy again, several times in exchange for a benefit. Loyalty programs are used by various business segments, from airlines to food businesses.

When we talk about e-commerce, this strategy basically works in three different ways.

The most widely used is earning points, also known as loyalty, which is when the customer earns points and can exchange them for rewards.

There is also the progressive discount, which encourages the consumer to buy more of a given product through discounts that increase according to the number of items. You can also choose a third option, which consists of offering discounts according to the number of points. These are the most widely used formats, but each online shop may use creativity according to the customer profile.

What are the advantages?

The increase of average ticket

A customer who feels valued by the company tends to spend more since they have more confidence in the brand and feel safer. Moreover, it is possible to create the loyalty program aimed at increasing the average ticket.

An interesting option is to stimulate a minimum amount of participation. For example: if the customer wants to make a purchase in the amount of € 50 and sees that if they spend € 70 they can get a discount or another kind of benefit, they may consider it advantageous to spend a little bit more to reach the amount required.

For this strategy to work, the consumer must understand quickly that they can obtain a good deal in your e-commerce. To facilitate the understanding, invest in explanatory content, which shows the need to take advantage of this unique opportunity.

Reducing costs to win new customers

Every day you think about how to attract new customers without deviating from your cost planning, right? The good news is that you are not the only one. Some more good news (yes) is that a loyalty program can minimize the problem. Keeping a loyal customer base is a way to reduce costs, after all, the higher the revenue coming from this group, the less need for big investments in disclosure.

Increase of engagement

By investing in loyalty programs, the main expected result is that customers remain loyal to your company. This condition has other advantages, such as the improvement of the relationship with the brand, the increase of trust and more engagement on social media. Moreover, customers can recommend your online shop to other people, a very important disclosure for business growth.

Stand out from the competition

Standing out from the competition is an increasingly difficult task for shopkeepers. While buying options are increasing, consumers are becoming more and more demanding. More than low price and product quality, they look for brands that know how to communicate with their target audience and value the relationship.

A loyalty program is a good option at that moment because, in addition to making the brand stand out from the competition, it brings the customer closer to the company and offers financial benefits for both parties.

Easy implementation

Though it seems like a strategy that consumes a lot of time and investment, putting it into practice is easier than you think. If you have a good e-commerce platform, it is possible to include a module to manage all the information without having to change the structure of the site.

You can also rely on the help of loyalty platforms that offer all the necessary features for this type of strategy. Ideally, you should work with easy-to-integrate digital marketing tools that can unify data and facilitate consumer interaction.

How to invest in this strategy?

The first step is to analyse the customer profile and their consumer behaviour. According to the information collected, it is time to identify the kind of incentives that can stimulate your customer: rewards or discounts? Generally speaking, the e-commerce consumer is usually attracted to the second option. Therefore, using the points system that corresponds to discounts becomes a good choice.

It is obvious that this preference can be determined by several factors, such as the action segment, age range, and product value, among others. If you choose to offer gifts, check if the rewards should be items in the shop or if you have to establish some kind of partnership with other companies.

The degree of difficulty to win the reward must be carefully defined. Setting very difficult goals may discourage the consumer to remain loyal to the brand and, worst of all, it may give a negative image of your company.

To avoid that situation, review your company goals very well and create a win-win strategy. Finally, all you have to do is create the regulation, be available in the contact channels to clarify the main doubts and to encourage customer participation through disclosure.

Competition is sneaking a peek at an opportunity to win your customer and not to lose them, so it is important to conquer their heart. Offering benefits in the form of discounts or rewards is a way of showing the importance of that relationship and ensuring excellent results.

Would you like to know more about how to implement this strategy in your online shop? Contact us and clarify all your doubts!

Hugo Pascoal

Licenciado em Relações Públicas e Publicidade, tem desenvolvido o seu percurso profissional ao longo dos últimos 10 anos na área do Marketing Digital, tendo-se especializado em email marketing e marketing automation. Think about it: is it more difficult to sell something to someone who already knows your brand, your product, or to raise brand/product awareness for people with no previous knowledge of your company? That’s right. You got there by yourself, we’re sure.

No good product or service is finished, and that’s great. Companies keep their products developing over time, so it’s only natural that during the process a couple (or a couple thousand) clients are left disappointed or do not think they’re a great match with what you’re providing.

When should I target communication towards former/inactive customers?

So, imagine you’re in the digital marketing industry, selling software to help your clients with social media networks management – your product nowadays has a wide array of possibilities, but it hasn’t been like that since the beginning, right? And back then, some customers left your product, even though they were attracted to it in the first place.

Now imagine you beat the competition and now you sport something new or improved, to offer. It’s the perfect time to go and get those inactive or former clients back. How? We’ll give you a few tips.

Think as if you only have one shot

Listen, this should be a rule of thumb for every email marketing communication moment, but it’s even more important when it comes to attracting inactive customers back. Don’t be a pain in the ass with inactive customers – for some reason, they left your company, so reminding them of that will only make them grow angry on you.

Instead, when communicating with inactive of former customers, do it as it was your last chance of winning them over. Be precise, communicate clearly your advantages and new features. Have them fall in love with you again, rediscover the magic.

Make use of data to understand what to communicate

Most companies have more than one product or service. Imagine you have a footwear e-commerce place: does it make sense to communicate about high heels to a former customer that used to purchase only sneakers?

Once again, this is important to every email marketing communication strategy, not only those concerning former customers. Make use of data, of your sales’ funnel and marketing automation systems (we have a pretty good one ourselves). Don’t waste what might be your only chance communicating something that won’t resonate with your target.

Make former customers feel wanted

A former customer may have left you for a multitude of reasons, but once upon a time, he was in love with your offers enough to become a client. So spread your love out there with a targeted campaign for them, a special come-back discount or some sort of limited offer so you can force them to think again about becoming a customer of yours.

Remember: a former customer is a cold lead. But it’s still a lead. Take advantage of it.

Pedro Barbosa

Sou um Content Marketing Ninja.
Algumas pessoas pensam por intermédio de números, desenho ou esquemas complicados. Unless you’ve been living under a huge rock, you heard (or even took advantage, as a client) of coupon discounts on grocery stores, airline miles or hotel points. Those are part of loyalty programs.

A loyalty program has a very simple objective: to entice the customer to make repeated purchases. Every product or service can benefit from this – nowadays there’s a few to none things one just buys once, so who doesn’t want a repeating customer?

Why are loyalty programs worth it for your business?

Well, for starters, there’s a reason that will resonate with all of the business owners and marketers out there: it will improve your earnings. And it’s easy to understand why – the cost of acquiring new customers is significantly higher than the cost of retaining existing ones. The cost of attracting a new customer is on average 5x higher than the retention cost, per Invespcro.

Secondly, there’s human psychology. Some loyalty programs offer a tiered system (you’re a “silver” or “gold” customer, for example), or some kind of gamification-like loyalty model that appeals to the gamer in us. When well implemented, those loyalty programs are highly successful.

Furthermore, in the human psychology field, we humans have a tendency to stick with what we know (that’s exactly why the cost of acquiring new customers is pretty higher in the first place). And that’s why appealing to values to such as loyalty, thankfulness, and reciprocity works so well.

Last, but not least, there’s the branding dimension of such programs. Loyalty programs work both as a “thank you” note to customers and another layer of marketing communication. It’s the kind of thing that raises brand awareness and love.

“How can I start a loyalty program?”

Well, first you have to plan internally what you want to get from a loyalty program, how you’ll communicate it and how the rewarding system works. Following this – and soon we’ll give you tips on how to do it – you’ll want to take a look at QERO, a Free Loyalty Platform that will ease the process a lot.

Per QERO’s own words:

“It’s a system that enables you to communicate with and gain your customers’ loyalty. With QERO you´ll have the possibility of a mobile app – which will run in the QERO environment-, – communicate with your clients – through push notifications -, and manage credit/points quickly and easily (not to be confused with a system that creates and manages loyalty campaigns).

As QERO is included in the E-goi ecosystem, you can use all of its other facets (learn more in E-Goi.com).”

And if you asks us why you should go with them, it’s a pretty easy choice:

“The QERO app has no associated costs, it’s totally free, just pay a monthly fee to send push notifications to your customers.
We cover all the costs associated with acquiring a mobile app – you won’t need to develop, you won’t need to create the design, nor pay for space in stores – and we leave the customer communication and loyalty to you.”

Pedro Barbosa

Sou um Content Marketing Ninja.
Algumas pessoas pensam por intermédio de números, desenho ou esquemas complicados.
